JD - Network Specialist

Education: Bachelor

Job Responsibility:

Responsible for the solution construction, implementation and network operation support, delivering high quality network support to clients in response to varying business requirements. Tasks performed include integrating hardware, software, network solutions and daily network operation support.

Communication/Negotiation:
Draws upon concepts of tools, technologies and methodologies to collaborate with other technical specialists when carrying out assigned duties. Effectively negotiates with technical peers and customers, to implement and support technical solutions.

Problem Solving:
Recognizes and articulates job related problems to management. Analyzes technical problems and creates solutions involving the use of existing techniques or tools. Performs assigned tasks within schedule in accordance with established standards and guidance. Prepares and recommends technical alternatives involving technology, methodology, tools, processes and solution components. Challenges the validity of given procedures and processes with the intent to enhance and improve a customer solution.

Technical and Professional Skills:

1. In-depth knowledge and strong experience in the following area's of specialization: Routing Switch, VPN, Security, Data Center network and WAN

2. Strong general knowledge of networking/security protocols and applications such as: TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, FTP, DNS, IPSec

3. Experienced with network traffic analysis tools such as Netscout, Sniffer etc

4. Knowledge of major network vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, F5 etc.), including solution, technology and product offerings.

5. Rich experience on network project delivery and project management

6. Ability to work effectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role for a project team.

7. Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills.

8. Self-Motivating. Must be able to work independently and have demonstrated strong personal initiative 

9. Ability to work well under pressure

10. Provide consultative support and mentor other less experienced team members in assigned project team

11. CCIE certification highly desirable 

12. Other industry well known certification like PMP also preferred
